Things to know before your appointment…

Don’t be early, don’t be late! When you book in at Westside Tattoo, we set that time slot aside just for you. If you cancel with late notice it impacts us and our artists significantly, and inconveniences the many other clients we turned away because we are fully booked. Because of this, we require a minimum of 48 hours notice if you wish to reschedule or cancel your appointment/s. Reschedules and/or cancellations with less than 48 hours notice will result in the immediate loss of your booking fee. If you do not show for your appointment, this will also lead to the immediate loss of your booking fee and we will record this on your client history for future reference. Multiple cancellations/no shows may require you to make full payment of your booked service in order to secure an appointment. We will send you an email a week prior to your appointment to confirm your appointment. Please note, we cannot accept cancellations/messages on Instagram/Facebook or outside of our operating hours.

Having a friend drop in to say hello while you’re getting tattooed is no problem but having an extra person hang out with you in the work area for multiple hours or the full day while we are trying to prepare for and execute your tattoo is counter-productive. In most instances our artists do not allow extra people in the work spaces, but if you do require someone to sit with you whilst getting tattooed please notify us prior to your appointment. Also, kids are not permitted in the work areas under any circumstance. You must be 18+ years old to enter the work areas. Please leave your kids at home.

As a studio, we generally charge by the piece and not by the hour. The studio minimum is $150. Everything starts here and goes up depending on size, style, location and detail. A rough price guide to keep in mind leading up to your appointment at Westside Tattoo:

  • Palm size tattoos are roughly $300-$400 each
  • Hand size tattoos are roughly $450-$650 each
  • Full days are roughly $1100-$1300

Keep in mind this is subject to change depending on the final design, size, placement, positioning, and which artist you get tattooed off on the day of your appointment. If you have a specific budget in mind, be sure to make us aware prior to arriving for your appointment.

Your artist will have your design drawn and ready to go on the day of your appointment and they can make any adjustments or changes needed when you arrive. Please make sure you have sent through all relevant reference images you want your artist to see and use prior to arriving at your appointment.

You will find us at Shop 6/2478 Gold Coast Highway in Mermaid Beach. We’re on the corner of the Gold Coast Highway and Atlantic Ave, next door to AS Colour. You will find plenty of free 1hr and 2hr parking spaces throughout the whole of Atlantic Ave. In saying this, lots of parking has been removed with the current tram construction in progress on the Gold Coast Highway, so please allow yourself enough time to find yourself a park on arrival!

Cash is definitely preferred and there is an ATM a short walk from the studio. If this won’t work for you, Eftpos is totally cool too. Please note that there will be a 1.1% surcharge for all Eftpos transactions. We DO NOT accept InkPay, AfterPay, ZipPay, or anything along these lines.
Be sure to have a big feed prior to your appointment and make sure you are well hydrated upon arrival. Bringing something sugary like a can of coke or bag of lollies will help also (especially for bigger tattoo sessions!).
